Setup wizard

Introduction

If you're using Netscape or Opera, you'll need to set up your web browser so that it sends its information to GhostSurf rather than directly to the Internet. When your browser sends its requests to GhostSurf, GhostSurf can remove your personal information and then route the request to a special anonymous hub. This keeps web sites from discovering who you are.

If you're using Internet Explorer, GhostSurf will interface automatically with your browser. You don't need to configure your browser or GhostSurf; it will work automatically.

The Setup wizard, pictured above, appears when you start GhostSurf for the first time. If you don't want to go through the setup process, you can simply cancel the wizard. The wizard is intended to help you set up your Netscape or Opera browser to work with GhostSurf.

With Netscape

If you would like to use GhostSurf with Netscape, you may wish to read the Netscape article. The wizard will eventually direct you there.

With Opera

If you would like to use GhostSurf with Opera, you may wish to read the Opera article. The wizard will eventually direct you there.

Testing

Once you've set up your Netscape or Opera browser, you may wish to test to make sure it's sending its requests to GhostSurf rather than to the Internet directly. You can read the Testing article for more information. You don't need to test your browser if you don't wish to.
